Karas Kustoms EDK

Have you heard about the Karas Kustoms EDK yet? The EDK is the latest machined pen from Karas Kustoms. As the name implies, this is pen designed to be your next everyday carry (or would that be “karry”?).

Karas Kustoms EDK comparison

This is Karas Kustoms’ smallest pen to date. It uses the same whisper-quiet retracting mechanism as the RETRAKT. The EDK is just over 5” and the pen is just under 0.5″ wide (not including the clip). When held with the clip up, the pen is quite comfortable in the hand.  The grooves in the body provide extra grip and give the EDK a unique look when compared to other pens in the Karas Kustoms line-up. The most notable difference is the pre-weathered, tumbled finish is the EDK. It looks like its been in your pocket or in the bottom of your bag for years from the minute it arrives.

The EDK will be available in Aluminum, Brass and Copper combinations with prices ranging from $55-$105 depending on materials. The brass and copper models are a smoother finish, the aluminum is the only model that’s tumbled (or if there are aluminum sections in the model you choose).

The EDK ships with a Schmidt P8126 refill, a standard Parker-Style refill and capable of taking most G2-style refills if they are trimmed down to fit which gives you a whole slew of refill options.

  1. I do not leave the house without a pen in my pocket. So it would go everywhere—to the grocery store, to coffee shops, on work trips to PH, PK, UGA, as well as within the US, etc.

  2. EDK will be my workhorse pen for all those times I’m signing in triplicate or I’ve just run out of ink in my ECO! Yay, EDK!

  3. Knowing how things usually progress in my home, it would wind up in my manfriend’s bag, with a bunch of other pens he is “borrowing” from me to tote back and forth to school. 😛

  4. I would carry it for work. My classroom is the place my EDC fountain pen just isn’t the right tool for the job.

  5. My EDK would stay in my Saddleback leather briefcase, as the sole emergency pen when my fountain pens are empty, or for multipart forms.

  6. I would love it, and would be easy to get it to since I live in OP and visit the Schoepfs every two weeks 🙂

  7. Loving the industrial look! I would keep it in my crossbody bag which basically goes everywhere with me. Crossing my fingers!

  8. This pen would follow me everywhere. Great giveaway, thanks for the chance to win!

  9. It’s beautiful and I’ll slip it in my slim pencase I picked up over the summer in London. They’d go so well together!

  10. I’m a volunteer at my son’s Elementary school so i’ll carry it everyday with me in my hand bag.

  11. it would go in my purse, along with my collection of pens/pencils that i take with me everywhere (because i always need to write things down)

  12. I think the EDK would make a great pocket pen. It’d hang out with my phone daily until I had something to write down. And that usually happens half a dozen times a day.

  13. The EDK will go with me on all my adventures throughout the state, bringing justice to the people!

  14. I have a pen with me at all times – heck, I have a pen with me when I’m showering or swimming! The EDK will be my Every Day Karry!

  15. As a safety officer it would come to every job site and help me write the policies that save lives!

  16. What a beautiful instrument! I would use mine with my treasured, beat-up Traveler’s Notebook. Goes everywhere with me.

  17. This handsome EDK would ride in my pocketbook and travel with me whenever I leave the house (primarily eastern Massachusetts). Thank you for the generous giveaway and good luck to all.

  18. This slick EDK would be my first choice for all my pen needs during work and play. Awesome looking pen!

  19. This would go in my shirt pocket, since clothing companies seem to be making those pockets shorter and shorter, and so many of my pens are too tall!

  20. Another great looking pen from these guys! This pen would venture through rural Indiana with me!

  21. If I were to win this pen it would become my first and only KK pen, thus it would be my Every Day Karas pen going everywhere with me.

  22. It would travel along life’s highway with me in my Midori. They would be great partners! Thanks for doing the giveaway!

  23. Looks really nice. Would be a great tool in the everyday home-to-office-to-freelance meetings-to-home adventures.

  24. I have a special case just for my non Fountain Pens that this pen would be held in. I typically take them with me to work daily where they are used on the Carbon forms that I have to do.

  25. I would take the EDK with me everywhere, and I would use it to write/plan my novel for NaNoWriMo! I’ve been using my other KK pens, but this compact size would be even better and more convenient to bring everywhere.

  26. Id take it with me to the beach for doing work, since I won’t have to worry about it getting damaged :)!

  27. Thank you for the giveaway and your always awesome posts! The EDK would go with me to the great outdoors, on hikes with my kids and I’d use it to write down all the funny things kids say 🙂

  28. It would go with me everywhere! It looks like it would enjoy tumbling from bag to backpack, in a case or not, to work and on errands.

  29. This pen would go to work, gym, school, leisure and studies, I’ve bought 8126 refills waiting for the perfect edc pen to use them in. And I’ve found it with the EDK!

  30. I would take this little guy with me everywhere in my pocket. I’m typically a fountain pen user, but I carry a cheap ballpoint or rollerball for signing receipts and the like. I’d love to have something a little more sturdy to fill that role.

  31. I currently carry a Retrakt in a Nock Fodderstack XL, and I’d probably swap the EDK back and forth with that. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  32. Where wouldn’t it go? That might be a better question. I could see this becoming a great grab-n-go pen for running off to meetings or doing something out in the garage.

  33. Thanks for the opportunity. Right now I carry a Bolt everywhere, if this own lives up to the hype…. watch out Bolt you might be replaced.

  34. I’d love for this pen to travel with me on all sorts of adventures… in my mind… as I sit in work meetings and take notes with it.

  35. The EDK would go with me in my pocket to work, to shuttle the kids around, and back home to document the day.

  36. The EDK would travel with me while I create eco-sustainable architecture in other countries! I’m excited to try out something that can work for me, since the bullet pen is my only reliable pen atm.

  37. This pen would come with me to Japan when I visit in the spring. It will be the only pen I bring there, but not the only pen I return with!

  38. This pen is beautiful and would go with me in my bag everywhere – to work, running errands, out, etc. Thanks for putting it up for a giveaway!

  39. This pen would go with me every day in my purse for writing notes and thoughts into my daily planner.

  40. The pen would go with me to meet some teens who I think should be shown many possibilities for metalworking.

  41. This pen would fight for EDC status with my Retro 51 Homerun and go everywhere I do.

  42. All the places! Namely Starbucks, where most of my writing happens outside the house! Heh. Thanks for the chance, lady!

  43. This little beauty would live in my jacket chest pocket always ready for quick notes in a field notes notebook.

  44. The EDK would go with me to on site where I need to take a lot of notes. Does seem like a perfect pen for everyday carry!
