The Colorado Pen Show 2023

Author Jessica ColesPosted on October 19, 2023October 19, 20234 Comments

Pen shows are an amazing opportunity to meet up with like-minded pen users, pen friends, and pen vendors. Most attendees visit one or two shows in a year, many times due to the distance that must be traveled to the show venue. But with the newest shows added to the pen show circuit, there are…

Show Recap: Orlando Pen Show

Author Jessica ColesPosted on September 14, 20232 Comments

Do people write posts analyzing second year pen shows? 2022 was the first year for the Orlando Pen Show and I have seen plenty of posts looking at the event – did it live up to the hype? Did it have any new events or features? But I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a…

Pen Show Recap: SF Pen Show

Author AnaPosted on August 29, 2023August 29, 20232 Comments

(My cat Apple makes sure there’s plenty of room for stowaways in R2’s secret compartment.) This recap from the SF Pen Show is really going to be a photo dump. There was SOOOOOO much to see and do: a whole wall of nib grinders in one hallway, an engraver from Waldmann doing on site engraving,…

California Pen Show Recap

Author AnaPosted on February 16, 2023February 15, 20236 Comments

The California Pen Show, as I mentioned in yesterday’s post, was a great first show for the new group of organizers. I thought we’d share some photos and a more in-depth recap for our first show of the year. I know the California Pen Show was not the first show of the calendar year but…

New Pen Show Alert!

Author Jessica ColesPosted on January 12, 2023January 12, 20232 Comments

Until recently, the pen show season is something that I have come to see as consistent, almost “set in stone”. For me, the first pen show of the year is Philadelphia and my last pen show is Chicago. The summer is a blur of pen shows too close together. But the pen show circuit does…

Were you one of the cool kids in elementary school or middle school or even high school who had access to markers that could change color? These markers came with several saturated colors and a marker with no color. But if you wrote with the colorful markers and then used the marker with no color on top of them, the color would change!...
I wandered into my local art supply store recently to get a couple very specific pencils. But of course I had to browse. I wandered down the watercolor aisle muttering to myself, "I do not need anymore watercolor palettes." So of course, I bought a new palette. But it's different!!!! It's the Derwent Inktense Paint Palette Set ($25). The set includes 12 small pans of color, a sponge along one edge and a portable waterbrush....
What are the odds that the random number generator would pick 3 winners all requesting different sized Endless Pen Companion cases on the first try?!?!? Today, the odds were 66%. So I had to toss a coin for who got the 5-pen and the 3-pen case. So without further ado, drum roll for our winners: Jen and Theresa, I had to toss a coin as to who would get the 3 and 5-pen sized....
